Pick lists

Pick lists allows you to use Natural England Gardening with Wildlife in Mind to create bespoke lists of plants or creatures, perhaps listing plants already in your garden or perhaps to use as the basis for choosing new plants you want to order. You can create many lists and save them.

Bookmarking

Pick lists are composed of records bookmarked in the main plant screen using the bookmark icon to the right of the menu icon (tool shed). When an item is recorded for the pick list the bookmark icon is covered by a red tick. Items bookmarked remain selected until individually deselected (click the bookmark again to remove the red tick) or until the entire pick list is deleted in the Pick list screen. You can do this at any time - when the full list is available or when you have made a selection.

The Left hand box

Select Pick lists from the menu. Pick lists opens with the Current list containing all the selected plants in the left hand box. You can remove items from the Current list - or clear it completely using the ‘Clear’ button. The selection for Current list remains from one session to the next so you may need to clear it if you are starting a new list. You can also use the left hand box to copy some items from one saved pick list to another list in the right hand box.

The Right hand box

You can copy all or part of the Current list to a list in the right hand box. To do this you will need to create a file name using the ‘New’ button. Highlight single items in the left hand screen and copy them using the single arrow, or copy all using the double arrow. When you copy to a list on the right it is automatically saved. You can edit a list on the right by removing items or copying items from the left. You can print a summary of the list or use it directly to run a slide show.

To run Slide show from the Current list you must first copy it to a list on the right.

There is a ‘Delete’ button to delete saved Pick lists.

You can print the names of plants in the list displayed in the right hand box using the Print button.
